For runners and cyclists

Your performance story cannot be reduced to a single metric.

Your FIT files become a focused analysis of trends, relationships and conclusions shaped around the questions that matter to you.

What is Deep Performance Analysis?

Deep Performance Analysis is a bespoke, question-led analysis of running and cycling training data. It is not another training log. It examines the relationships between multiple activities, periods and metrics to address questions that large training platforms cannot answer.

The starting point is not a pre-built score, but what you genuinely want to understand: whether your movement has changed, where fatigue begins to appear, whether you respond differently with different equipment, or whether a longer-term trend is emerging.

An automated summary tells you what happened in one session. Bespoke analysis asks how your sessions relate to one another and what changes over time.

What can it be used for?

  • to identify long-term trends;
  • comparing several weeks, months or seasons;
  • targeted comparison of similar training sessions or races;
  • examining the relationship between pace, heart rate, power and running dynamics;
  • identifying fatigue, drift and within-session changes;
  • comparing shoes, bikes, positions or other recorded conditions over any time period;
  • investigating a specific athlete or coach question through data (based on any criteria);
  • to support or refute assumptions;

How does it work?

  1. You send the original FIT files. They may come from a sports watch, running watch or cycling computer.
  2. We refine the question. Where necessary, a few concise questions help define the comparable sessions, periods and conditions.
  3. The focused analysis is prepared. After cleaning and comparing the data, attention turns to the patterns most relevant to you.
  4. You receive a clear result. A written assessment, readable charts and actionable insights bring the findings together.

What data is needed?

The main requirement is the original FIT files for the period being examined. Brief context about the sessions can also be valuable: their purpose, terrain, equipment, training block, races or any event that may be important to interpretation.

Not every device records the same fields. The depth of the analysis is always determined by the data that is genuinely available; a missing metric cannot be replaced reliably by assumption.

What do you receive?

  • a clear written assessment tailored to the question;
  • relevant, labelled charts showing comparisons and trends;
  • observations that are supported by the available data;
  • an explicit account of limitations and uncertainty;
  • where useful, further questions that may justify collecting more or better data.

Who is it for?

It is for athletes at any level who record their training regularly and want to understand their own data beyond automated weekly summaries. It can also help coaches examine a particular athlete or training block in greater depth, especially when the question has not been answered satisfactorily elsewhere.

How is it different from an automated summary?

A sports watch or training platform calculates the same standard metrics for many users. Bespoke analysis instead selects the data, filters and comparison methods around your question. It can examine distributions rather than averages alone, changes within a session, differences under comparable conditions and patterns that emerge over months or years.

The result is not a medical diagnosis and does not promise guaranteed performance improvement. It is an expert analysis of sports performance data that can support better-informed questions and decisions.
