Gábor Makács, founder of Deep Performance Analysis, wearing a cycling jersey

I am Gábor Makács, a software engineer and former competitive cyclist.

I have spent more than twenty years working with databases, data processing and the analysis of complex data systems. Deep Performance Analysis brings this professional background together with my practical experience in elite sport.

I raced on the road for fifteen years, completing 1,200–1,500 training hours in several seasons. I won numerous races and gained first-hand experience of performance development, the balance between training load and recovery, and the fact that data alone does not necessarily provide good answers.

I began taking running more seriously later. The new sport brought new questions: how running form changes at different paces, in different shoes or under fatigue; which differences are real and which are measurement artefacts; and what can be identified — and reasonably concluded — from months or years of data.

I have already supported the preparation of a number of successful professional and amateur athletes.

Because conventional sports platforms provide only limited answers to these questions, I built my own data-processing and analysis system. That work became Deep Performance Analysis.

I do not produce generic training advice or automatically generated reports. Every analysis is designed to turn your own data into athlete-specific, verifiable and actionable insights.

I also develop bespoke Garmin Connect IQ apps.
